Forest School Fridays

Every Friday the children will take part in outdoor forest learning. This is an opportunity for children to engage in outdoor learning, explore the environment around them and learn important skills. Please could the children bring their wellies in a named carrier bag, to change into for our outdoor adventure!

Library day

Every Tuesday the children in Nursery are invited to choose a book from our library which they can then take home to share with their family. The chosen book, can then be returned on the following Tuesday giving them the opportunity to select a new book.

Coats

Now that the weather is beginning to change, could you please send your child with an appropriate coat as many are choosing to take part in outdoor learning opportunities.

Snack times

Snack time is a very important part of our Nursery day and all children are provided with a healthy piece of fruit along with the option of having a drink of milk or water each day.

Our learning this half term

This half term we will be thinking about the question “Can you look after our world?”

We will talk about how we can help in the classroom, how we can help in our school, and at home.

To help us understand this topic, we will be looking at the key texts below, as well as reading a range of books in the classroom.

To support children in their personal, social and emotional development, we will be encouraging the children to play in the same game/activity as their friends and to take turns and share.

This half term we will continue encouraging the children to write their names using their name cards, and whilst reading books we will be looking at and talking about the characters in different stories.

As part of the children’s learning in Maths, we will be learning new vocabulary relating to capacity.

To develop our understanding of the world around us, we will be joining in with different customs and traditions from Sri Lanka. In RE we will be singing songs and listening to and thinking about a special story about Jesus!
